Test Results Summary of Floating Treatment Wetlands in Wastewater..more (pdf)
The University of Calgary conducted a two year study sponsored by Alberta Environment & Parks and Environment Canada demonstrating that floating treatment wetlands remove naturally and effectively contaminants from a lagoon wastewater facility. In this study the focus is on phosphorus, nitrogen, organic carbon, and suspended solids as well as the change in water temperature, pH, electrical conductivity and dissolved oxygen.
Habitat Floating Treatment Wetlands, the path to pristine water (pdf)
Bruce Kania, inventor of the BioHaven floating treatment wetlands explains the three key steps to remediate nutrient polluted water.
Fish Harvesting Bounty in a Restored Pond (pdf)
In this article published in the magazine Pond Boss, Bruce Kania inventor of the BioHaven floating treatment wetlands, eloquently states the case for a holistic approach to water quality that includes the essential item of harvesting to complete the nutrient removal cycle and to enjoy a healthy diet!

Incubator Islands…Jump Starting the Food Web
BioHaven modules were launched at Elfin Cove, AK, to study the effect of salt water on plants, to find out what biota would colonize the islands and see how the islands would hold up to the forces of Nature in a marine environment. After a whole winter in the water, the island maintained its buoyancy and structure, and the perennial plants came back in the spring.
Highly efficient Bubble Tubing optimizes oxygen transfer and lifts water which aids in complete circulation throughout the water column. As Bubble Tubing® functions without moving parts or electricity in the water, it increases performance efficiency while significantly reducing electrical and maintenance costs in comparison to other aeration systems. http://www.vitawatertech.com/admin/core/apps/assets/edit/?id=459
